There was another census conducted, and true to what God said, only Caleb and Joshua were left from the older generation that left Egypt.

I loved how the daughters of Zelophehad presented their case in Chapter 27 and how God responded in verse 5. Because of this, changes were made for the entire community. This is a good lesson, to learn to speak up for ourselves. When we speak up, we may be making positive changes in other people’s lives, even for unborn generations. This also shows the nature of God. He listens; he is fair.

We see a beautiful example of the transfer of leadership from Moses to Joshua. This was after God had reminded Moses that he would not see the promised land. God chose Joshua.
