Day 39
Have you all noticed how our role models are hardly people close to us? It’s because we are exposed to their weaknesses. Those we look at from afar seem perfect. If we were close to those we admire, we may find flaws we don’t like. But it most times doesn’t make them stop being our role models except something no longer aligns with our values.
God chose Aaron and his family to be priests. Aaron is Moses brother, and he has been the one God has been using to support Moses all along.
I feel we often take our family for granted. Hopefully, we are not overlooking our families’ gifts, which may take us to the next phase of our lives, for something outside. This is not to say God doesn’t use those who are not family. He uses anyone. I am also saying to look within and see who we can learn from. I pray I don’t miss a blessing I can get from someone within inches of me.
In 28:3, God said Aaron’s clothes are only to be made by those who God has given the skills to do so. This speaks to our gifts, and God expects us to use our skills; the talent has to be the right fit for any task we handle.
The instructions are so many. How did they remember? Which makes me wonder how they documented in those days?
Today’s passage shows again that God is specific and detail-oriented. He gave instructions on what the priests clothing should look like. Detailed instructions were also given on how sacrifices were to be made, as well as the priests’ rituals. A lot of blood everywhere. You know, relating it to today’s world, I thought it was a lot to do. I am glad God sent Jesus and appreciate the sacrifice he made even more, as well as his continuous role as a mediator.
