Day 38

The reading for today were specific instructions to Moses on how the tabernacle is to be built. God was very specific and detailed in the plan he gave to Moses.

God told Moses in 25:2 to tell the Israelites who are willing to give to the building to bring gifts to build the tabernacle. The key emphasis here is willingness. God didn’t ask Moses to force or persuade anyone to give. It had to be something they wanted to do. It is pretty different from how people are compelled to give these days. It is almost like emotional blackmail, and people end up giving against their will.

Furthermore, in 25:8 God says, ‘I also want them to build a special place where I can live among my people’. This shows that God desires a fellowship with me, with us all.
