Day 245

Daily Bible Musings

The books of the major prophets have been a bit tough for me, but Ezekiel beats them all. It’s been hard!

Anyway, I have often wondered what the bible would look like if it were being written as the world is today. Wouldn’t that be interesting?

In chapter 20, God describes the long history of Israel’s rebellion. I went over verse 25 a couple of times, where God says, “Moreover, I gave them statutes that were not good and rules by which they could not have life”. My question was, why? I got my answer here, which summarises the conclusion I came to — perhaps God allowed them to go in the opposite direction since they won’t follow his command.

God also mentions a couple of times where he spared the Israelites for his name’s sake. An example would be when the Israelites built a golden calf, and Moses had to intercede on their behalf.

Despite all this, and something we are used to, we see God’s heart again; he cares for his people and restoring them.

My musings from reading the entire bible (chronological). Not a Preacher. Unravelling what I’ve been told about God to knowing him for myself
