Day 184

Daily Bible Musings
2 min readJul 3, 2022

In familiar stories today, so I won’t be rehashing them.

God doesn’t always work in ways we expect and sometimes doesn’t make sense. When this happens, would we obey or allow our ego in the way?

Another thing that caught my attention was the question Naaman’s servants asked him: if the prophet asked him to do something difficult, wouldn’t he have? It is so relatable. Sometimes, a solution is as simple as ABC, but as humans, we sometimes love complexity. I wondered — to what end? Does it justify how intelligent we are or what?

As I read about the part about how expensive things were, it reminded me of today, with the cost of inflation at new highs in some countries. The cost of living has become so expensive that I longed for this type of miracle where prices would crash, and yes, like tomorrow. People are suffering.

I wondered if Hazel would have killed Ben-Hadad if Elisha didn’t tell him he would be king after Ben-Hadad. Did Hazel always plan to take Ben-Hadad’s life, and Elisha had seen his heart?

At the end of today’s reading is the reminder that God keeps his words. He didn’t destroy Judah for the sake of his covenant with David, even though some of David’s successors did real messed up things.

Daily Bible Musings

My musings from reading the entire bible (chronological). Not a Preacher. Unravelling what I’ve been told about God to knowing him for myself
